Principles of Goal Setting

“In essence if we want to master our lives we must control our daily thoughts and actions. It’s not what we do once in a while that determines our success in life but the small, incremental consistent actions we perform daily over time that shape our lives and determine our future.”

Do you want to be good or do you want to be great?

“Good is the Enemy of Great” That is one of the key reasons so little become great in our world, because we settle for what is easy and simply being “Good”.

Everything that is or was began with a dream

In his book, “What They Don’t Teach You at Harvard Business School” Mark McCormack made an interesting discovery about the 1979 graduating MBA class.

How important is it for you to make a real breakthrough in your life or business?

Many years ago I learned from one of my mentors that the story I was telling myself on a subconscious level, detailing in my own mind why “I Can’t” was the core reason I was not breaking through the resistance

The ability to set goals and create a plan for their accomplishment is the blueprint for success in your life

Are there times when you feel off track and adrift in Life like a ship without a rudder wondering where life is taking you?

Are you burying or hiding from your dreams and passions

I recently had a lady approach me at the end of a presentation I gave on “Utilizing the powerful force of goals”. She said she had been in the same profession for fifteen years and couldn’t think of any dreams or goals that excited her… Her life had become in her words a “comfortable and predictable existence.”

Change, do you live in happiness or misery?

Change — even when unwelcome or unexpected often wakes up those dormant dreams we have buried.  I have seen Doctors move to the country to take up organic gardening, Priests who have switched to fulfilling careers as lecturers and educators and Housewives who emerged from the years of raising children to release their gifts in writing and counselling.

Have you ever wondered how to turn nothing into something?

To begin the process of taking nothing and creating something, you’ve got to start with ideas and imagination. Now, it might be hard to call ideas and imagination nothing; when we really think about it everything started as a dream or idea but how tangible are those ideas?

Seven strategies to rid yourself of procrastination

Do you ever find yourself in a state where you’re avoiding the completion of a list of relatively simple tasks? It doesn’t help given we live in a highly digital environment where we have so many distractions they tend to create an environment that makes it easy to procrastinate on important tasks.

The Magic of Words

I have found that sometimes the subtle difference in our attitude, which of course can make a major difference in our future, can be as simple as the language we use.

The Importance of 'Matching'

You’ve heard the saying ‘like attracts like.’ Nowadays the concept is often used within spiritual communities with ‘law of attraction’ terminology.

Its Your Choice

Any day we desire, we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish, we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge to learn a new skill. Any day, we can start a new activity. Any day, we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.

Dealing with Difficult People

Difficult people have been trained and taught to act the way they do since they were children.

The Importance of Courage

Courage is a very special human quality and some would say it's becoming increasingly rare. Courage is the trait the Ancient Greeks held to be the foundation of all other virtues.

Are you realising your full potential?

I want to share three elements that can transform your results and they are, Increase your awareness / Be precise with your goals / Take inspired action

A Compelling "Why"

If the why is big enough; the how is usually not a problem. This compelling why is connected to your personal objectives, mission statement or magnificent obsessions - it is the basis of your emotional support beam.

Inspire Employees with Engagement

The office should be a place of inspiration and involvement. Do you have a guy in the back corner whose desk no one bothers to stop by for a daily hello or company update? That’s bad news because if you don’t care, neither will he.

Achieving your dream

While most people spend  most of their lives struggling to earn a living, a much smaller number seem to have everything going their way. Instead of just earning a living, the smaller group is busily working at building and enjoying an abundant and fulfilling life.

Building Rapport and Trust

You never actually close a sale. You only begin a long-term relationship where both parties win. Can you think of a successful relationship without mutual trust? Break that trust and you break the relationship.

The Power Of Taking Action

There is great power in taking action. One of the things I have learned is that you have to expect the unexpected. So many of us have long-term plans but life happens and we don’t turn those plans into reality.

Two Choices

Each of us has two distinct choices to make about what we will do with our lives. The first choice we can make is to be less than we have the capacity to be. To earn less. To have less. To read less and think less.  And the second choice? To do all we can! To become all that we can possibly be. To read every book that we possibly can. To earn as much as we possibly can.

Motivation To Motive Action

In the past, change in business and social life was incremental and a set of personal strategies for achieving excellence was not required. Today, in our knowledge-based world, where change is the rule, a set of personal strategies is essential for success, even survival.

Consider yourself self employed, but be a team player

What strategy number one means is that you are your own Chief Executive Officer of your future. Start thinking of yourself as a service company with a single employee. You’re a small company that puts your services to work for a larger company.

Be Flexible in the Face of Daily Surprises

We live in a time-starved, overstressed, violent society. We all need to learn how to be flexible in the face of daily surprises, which is one of the most important action traits for a leader.

The Key to Success

On the surface, it looks like successful people are successful because they do things differently. But if you look beyond that you can see that successful people are in fact successful because they think differently…

Hope is a Choice

Hope is in the DNA of men and women who learn from their losses. When times are tough, they choose hope, knowing that it will motivate them to learn and turn them from worriers to Warriors!

Defeat your fear

Hope To Laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to rick appearing sentimental. To reach our for another is to rick involvement. To expose your feelings is to risk revealing yourself.
